Receive an introduction to the complete five-step Instructional System Design (ISD) model: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Then you’ll participate in a detailed study of the analysis and design steps. The class discussions will focus on defining the target audience, developing a content outline and writing instructional objectives. You’ll also develop a training project analysis and design a document for the final class project. Notes: Prerequisite: Facilitating Adult Learning or prior experience with adult learning theory. Required text: Developing Technical Training: A Structured Approach for Developing Classroom and Computer-based Instructional Materials, 3rd ed., Ruth Colvin Clark. The textbook is available at the UNM Bookstore and students are required to purchase and bring their textbook with them on the first day of class.
