Exploring Mind Practices: Sustaining your meditation habit

« back to classes page
Find support for a simple, accessible practice of mindfulness. Research in neuroscience tells us that meditation practice actually rewires the brain. Harvard researchers, using MRI scans, have shown that meditation does increase our “gray matter” leading to better cognitive and psychological functioning. Lower your daily stress, accomplish more with increased focus, sleep better to be refreshed or take time to reconnect with your life by increasing and sustaining your mindfulness meditation practice. Using the mindfulness methods from the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn in his Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts, join supportive, beginning and longtime meditators with a willingness to share an hour every other week in working towards a lifetime habit of wellness.

Prerequisite: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) eight-week course. Recommended: UNM Center for Life MBSR course
