« back to classes page

This course explores the impact of cultural diversity on the therapeutic process.  Through didactic and experiential exercises students will examine their own cultural identity and assumptions as well as learning how to work effectively with clients of different racial backgrounds, cultural traditions, gender identities and sexual orientations. The melting pot, color blindness, political correctness and other American myths that serve to prevent real connection in the therapeutic process will be explored with safety and humor.
