Typography, the art and craft of selecting and setting type, can make or break a layout. Focusing on the critical awareness of type, topics include the history of type and its language, how to choose and specify type, type categories, type as a visual element, creative typography, and type design. Note: Equipment and materials cost about $25; a materials list will be available the first day of class. Prerequisite: 55101 or equivalent experience.
