Many classes on cinema focus on the history and theory of cinema. This class will be very different. It will be a hands-on experience of the tools and practices of modern cinema. The class will be taught at uPublic.tv in Albuquerque. Students will learn how to rig and move a cinema camera, creatively control light, get good audio on location and deal with the digital workflow used by most modern cinema cameras. They will learn techniques to get that “Film Look” with budgets from high to zero. They will also learn on-set terminology and practices essential to successful production. They will leave the class with skills immediately usable for a variety of projects. The instructor is Chris Paul, a working professional with 33 years of experience.
