Receive an introduction to the complete five-step Instructional System Design (ISD) model: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Then you’ll participate in a detailed study of the analysis and design steps. The class discussions will focus on defining the target audience, developing a content outline and writing instructional objectives. You’ll also develop a training project analysis and design a document for the final class project. Notes: Prerequisite: Facilitating Adult Learning or prior experience with adult learning theory. Required text: Developing Technical Training: A Structured Approach for Developing Classroom and Computer-based Instructional Materials, 3rd ed., Ruth Colvin Clark. Students are required to purchase and bring their textbook with them on the first day of class.
