« back to classes page
Claire King, author of the novel, The Night Rainbow, says “What I love about child narrators is the way they question the things that we take for granted, and take for granted the things we question.” We’ll look at selections from several novels intended for an adult reader where the protagonist is a young person. We’ll analyze themes and discover what makes these works some of the finest, most successful contemporary adult fiction available. Novels to be covered: The Elegance of the Hedgehog, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime and Winter’s Bone as well as others.
