This is the story of the life and times of Oscar “OK” Kokoschka and his infamous romance with Alma Mahler. Oscar Kokoschka was destined to become one of the greatest coloristic expressionistic artists of the twentieth century. Alma Mahler was the wife of Gustav Mahler, the great composer and head of the Vienna Opera. When these two titans met, the resulting affair would make for tabloid style fireworks, culminating in a tailspin of aberrant behavior when the couple split. Oscar’s art exploded into the incredible works we know today. Alba went on to involvements with many illustrious men of the 20th century. The presentation reveals the world of fin- de- siècle Vienna and the art that captured the impact of this infamous affair.
