« back to classes page
Becoming an informed consumer of hearing aids is critical to your ability to be confident in your purchase. Hearing loss affects nearly fifty million Americans but those who suffer often feel they are alone. Hearing aid purchase is about one third product (the hearing aids themselves) and about two thirds process. In other words, the process of adjustments, finding a hearing health care provider you trust and will work with you, finding the right solution for your own lifestyle, not necessarily what is in the advertising brochures. Take the mystery out of hearing loss and learn about hearing aids and technology and explore with your classmates about what technology solutions work and which may not be for you. We will cover hearing loss basics, technology solutions from the simple to the sophisticated, the correlation between hearing loss and dementia, what to expect from your hearing health care provider and your legal rights. A passionate trainer, the instructor has worn hearing aids for over 65 years.
