« back to classes page
India has been called "the land of contrasts.” It has been home to some of humanity’s greatest spiritual and political leaders, and the standard of living is rising, yet much of the population continues to suffer from great poverty and deprivation. In this class with a series of colorful slide shows we’ll discuss major sights and regions, history, religions, foods, accommodations, transportation, wellness (including medical travel), social problems, and more. You’ll greatly expand your knowledge of this exotic and mysterious country. Your instructor will provide firsthand accounts from his two years in the country during nine visits over 30 years.
