The Health Status of New Mexico

The health status of New Mexico varies by region, race/ethnicity and many other factors. Life expectancy and disability adjusted life years are two health status measures that are moving in the wrong direction for New Mexico. The presentation will highlight major health issues in New Mexico related to infectious disease, chronic disease, maternal child health, substance use and injury. This presentation will also examine the different ways to look at health status will be reviewed as will the changes in health status in New Mexico over time.
