Sampler session Part Two will begin with notorious painter Artemisia Gentilleschi, from 17th century Italy. We’ll move on to France to study 19th century ex-patriot American painter Mary Cassatt. Back in the USA, we’ll encounter WPA photographer Dorothea Lange and New York documentary photographer Berenice Abbott. Staying in New York, we find Harlem-born multi-media artist Faith Ringgold, with her strong feminist message. And roving out west, we’ll discuss Native American artist Jaune Quick-to-See Smith. All these women made great sacrifices for the sake of their art.
