Final Cut Pro, Premiere and AVID provide the film and video editor with an amazing array of tools for an edited piece. What the editor has to provide is the ins and outs of how to put together a good edit - the art and craft of storytelling. Be it a Feature movie, a Documentary, or a Commercial, the editor needs an eye and an ear for making an edit successful. In this course we look at the essentials of Editing: storytelling, timing, rhythm, and dramatic structure. We look at examples, and apply hands on exercises to introduce you to these indispensable tools. This course will complement in an ideal way classes taken for Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro. Prerequisite: 54101/11 or equivalent experience.
