As long as there have been humans, there have been criminals.  Crime can be driven by poverty, greed, envy or simply an amoral approach to other humans, but laws passed with good intentions also can generate criminal activity.  That is what happened January 17, 1920 with the passage of 18th Amendment.  In the thirteen years before its repeal, criminal activity in the United States evolved into a hierarchy of organized crime funded by the distribution and sale of illegal alcohol.  But not all criminals dealt in bootleg whiskey.  Some just robbed banks and killed people.  Herbert Hoover and the FBI referred to all of them as “Public Enemy #1” in a list that eventually evolved into the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.” Join gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Bonnie and Clyde, Pretty Boy Floyd, Machine Gun Kelly, Ma Barker, and Al Capone on their crime sprees – individuals that you only would want to meet in this class.
