We’ll explore the game of baseball, as played in the 1940s and 50s on New Mexico’s east side and in West Texas. At the end of World War II, every little town wanted a ballpark. These teams were typically not attached to a Major League franchise and many of the players came to live in these little towns and ultimately retired there. The instructor collected oral histories from players, managers, umpires, fans and men and women who worked in the ball parks. Come celebrate the Post-War Legends of Baseball in the American Southwest.
