New Mexico Route’s Roots: Exploring New Mexico’s Highways

ID : 85109
« back to classes page

First, there were the paths, then there were the trails, then there were the highways, then there were the super highways, then there were the tourists—many of whom then became New Mexicans.  Let’s look at New Mexico’s highways using, as a tour guide, someone who knows a lot about this state’s roads—a roadrunner, of course.  We’ll cruise past towns that were affected by New Mexico’s Anti-Bypass Law, visit some places you might find while running around New Mexico and take a peek at some of the our more unusual highways. Not all roads lead to New Mexico (only the important ones), but our roads lead us into the strange and wonderful Land of Enchantment.
