« back to classes page
The cultural heritage of the American Southwest as expressed by the architecture of the Ancient Puebloans-Anasazi epoch is monumental. As such, the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument is a complex of three impressive Spanish Missions, Abo, Quarai, and Gran Quivira.  For hundreds of years, the Missions, Pueblos, Kivas, and Homesteads have stood as testaments to the people and cultures that have called this area home. From the prehistoric Ancestral Puebloan and Jumano groups to the 17th century Spanish Franciscan missionaries, the Missions make this a special place to visit! The highlights of this tour are great scenery, wildlife watching, ruins and museums. The remains of these missions are a testament to the ingenious architectural design/planning of the people who inhabited the area. You will be stunned by the beauty of this place! A 6 + hour tour. 19054 Anasazi Architecture and its influence in the Rio Grande Pueblos
