Tatting: An Introduction

Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a lace from a series of knots and loops. Using extra-large thread, designed just for tatting, you will learn this skill that has been practiced by queens and commoners alike. You will learn to master the double stitch and learn to read patterns and diagrams. You will make several items from patterns provided by the instructor. Come and learn all the basic tricks and tips needed to get started. Feel free to contact the instructor at stitch4fun@unm.edu if you have any questions.  

Note: A material fee of $25 will be payable to the instructor at the first session.
