ID : 86361
« back to classes page

We’ll begin in 19th century France where we’ll encounter painter Berthe Morisot, the only woman who exhibited with the Impressionists in Paris. Moving to Germany, we’ll discuss the powerful graphic works of printmaker Kathe Kollwitz. Also in Germany at the turn of the 20thcentury, we’ll look at the life and paintings of Expressionist Paula Modersohn-Becker. Back in the USA, we’ll study the Abstract Expressionist works of painter Elaine de Kooning and the traditional paintings by Native American artist Pablita Velarde. For something really different, we’ll round out our discussion with the multi-media works of contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
