A Comparison of Science and Religion

ID : 86369
« back to classes page

In this class we will compare science and religion as they are in the world today. Does science have answers for everything? Does it disagree with the Bible? Is there a war on science? On religion? Can science be balanced with what people feel or believe about the supernatural? Do they offer different perspectives on child immunization, climate change, gun violence, women’s rights, contraception, abortion, and LGBT rights? Should creationism be taught along with evolution in public schools? Can we improve understanding between believers and non-believers? Can there be a philosophical unity of science and religious knowledge? Is the purpose of both to explain reality, including the natural world? Are religious institutions essential? I will also offer a reading list.
