New Mexico is the only state with a foreign policy. It was a laugh during the Richardson administration, not so much with immigration and the trade wars in a border state that ties Arizona and Texas for the most Mexican exports. The sixty-day New Mexico legislative session beginning in January of 2019 will be presided over by a new Governor. This new Governor will also appoint the committee to look at redistricting based on the 2020 census. With half of the seats in the statehouse up for reelection in November, we also may see a very different legislative body. Come explore state politics with Gene Grant, Host of New Mexico in Focus.
