Writing Speculative Fiction Short Stories

This class is for writers interested the short form of speculative fiction (i.e. 1000-7000 words). Students will be expected to submit electronically ~1000 words per week in the hopes of developing one short story or a series of flash pieces for publication. Each session will begin with specific genre-related craft exercise and end with round robin, open critique of work submitted the previous week. Students will receive instruction on how to give and receive effective and respectful critique; and weekly written feedback from the instructor. Max: 10 students
