Treat yourself to an enriching weekend workshop and enter the enchanting world of weaving and fiber arts with local Navajo weavers. We will start the weekend attending the Crownpoint Navajo Rug Auction.  You will learn basic wool cleaning, carding, thigh spinning, warping, traditional weaving techniques & patterns, taking off, and more.  Participants will be able to take home a basic weaving kit with a small loom at the end of the weekend.

NOTE: Class Location:  Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions Base Camp located in the Zuni Mountains outside of  Thoreau, New Mexico  The camp is rustic. Must be 16 yrs + to enroll. This course includes transportation, lodging and meals (sleeping bag rental available). Courses start at 2 PM on Friday and end at 5 PM on Sunday.  All transportation, meals, and lodging are included--sleeping bag rentals are available for an additional $15.  

NOTE: Eligible for Limited UNM Tuition Remission of $115.50. Not eligible are transportation, meals & non-educational activities.

This course will includes transportation, lodging and meals at camp. (Rental Sleeping bags available). The group will leave from UNMCE on Friday afternoon by 2:00PM.
