Beginning Small Metals 1.0 Small Metals Workshop

Learn the building blocks of metal smithing and create your own metal masterpieces with an expert metal smith. Learn basic surface and texture manipulation, soldering techniques, stone setting and finishing work.  Come prepared for a unique unplugged experience in a beautiful rustic studio. In addition to pieces, participants will be able to take home a basic set of tools at the end of the weekend.  (Tentative plans for inclusion of a Hopi overlay workshop are in the works - stay tuned).
Home-cooked, New Mexican-inspired meals and lodging in our rustic cabins is included in the price.

Please read:  There is no electricity in base camp cabins. The beds are a plywood platform with a 3 inch foam mattress on them. Sleeping bags may be rented for a small fee. Limited UNM Tuition Remission Eligible for $136.50. Not eligible for transportation, food or materials.
