UNM Continuing Education offers online courses in partnership with The Learning Resources Network (LERN), the leading continuing education association in the world. You do not need to purchase additional software to participate in these classes. All of the materials are accessed within your web browser, and all of the completion requirements can be completed without leaving the classroom. (Certain courses such as Mastering Microsoft Excel or Photoshop for Presentations are focused on specific software that is not included with the course fee. Be sure you have access to that software when you register.) After registering, an invitation into the online classroom will be emailed to you the Wednesday before the course begins. The subject of the email invitation will be “Lern-Classroom Invitation”. Please open to accept the invitation and create a password to gain access to the classroom. If you haven’t received the invite by the following morning please contact UGotClass at the phone number, or email, that is provided in your registration confirmation email (which is sent out the day of registration). The online classroom is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are no live real-time requirements or meetings. For the best learning, participants should log into the course 2-3 different days of the week. Technical support information is also listed in your registration confirmation. If you are enrolled in a Certificate program (2-3 courses typically) you will get a separate invite the Wednesday before each individual course start date. You will also automatically receive a certificate upon successful completion of your final course. For students enrolled in individual courses, a transcript can be issued upon request to UGotClass. For most of these courses, the completion requirements state that the student will need to participate in the discussion area weekly, and pass each self-quiz with a score of 80% or higher. These requirements are posted in each classroom under the “Course Completion Requirements” page.
